Abstract

This paper is a brief reflection of my experience and thought process describing my first patient encounter. It details a perspective that is prevalent not just in medicine, but in society. By examining and analyzing my mindset in those moments, I was able to determine the error of my ways as well as provide potential solutions and suggestions for future purposes. This paper can map an introspective blueprint for other medical students who find themselves in a similar position.
