He graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. Gabriel also received his Honors in the Major for defending his honors thesis, titled, \u201cAcute Administration of Progesterone Enhances Recovery After Mild Traumatic Brain Injury.\u201d At FSU, Gabriel served as the research ambassador for the Student Council of Undergraduate Research and Creativity and also the associate editor of The Owl Research Journal. He is currently conducting research under Dr. Jonathan Phillips at the Arnold Palmer Children\u2019s Hospital, investigating anterior-distal hemiepiphysiodesis of the femur in patients with knee flexion contractures.
